STAGE HOUSE

Designed by Mutsue Hayakusa Cell Space Architects, The House which is called Villa-K, was built with Stage style. This is the type of home built while taking into consideration the connection between indoors and exterior. Large windows offer unobstructed views of the near by forest. Villa K has no less than four roofs, situated at different levels, which is a very interesting architecture approach. Unexpected angles can characterize the overall appearance of this contemporary residence. The interiors are spacious and airy, with stylish and modern furniture. Elegant indoor stairs connect the levels of the home, creating a fun and unusual living space. Wood is present, complementing the general white color palette of the home. Read more

SUSTAINABILITY HOUSE

City View Residence is a project which initially left us speechless. At the first glance, the element that stands out is grandeur: a home of impressive size, with an eye-catching outdoor pool. But as one begins to check out its subtle design attributes, its impressive proportions start to lose ground. The building is a blend of modern design, sustainable elements and artistic decorations which contribute to a well defined personality. Here is more information from the architects: “Inspired by the clients’ desire to live in a house that reflects their values and lifestyle, the house takes an architecturally minimal approach with simple massing, an understated material palette, and large expanses of glass. Configured for entertainment, the glass box living area, along with large sliding doors from the dining and pool room invite guests outside onto the pool deck to take in the spectacular view of the Austin skyline. We tried our best to have as little impact on the environment as well. The house has a 3kw solar panel system, instant hot water heaters, bio foam insulation, rain water collection that irrigates a good portion of the lot, very efficient mechanical systems, and low e glass.” Read more

FLOATING HOUSE

Designed by Vandeventer + Carlander Architects , The house offered a new concept of original building. The designer comes a modern home design located on Lake Union, right in the city center. How fascinating it is to have a house on a lake! It would be interesting to know what the address of this home is. You probably did not see this coming, but there are a lot of similar floating houses on Lake Union. In fact, if I recall correctly, Tom Hanks owned one in the movie “Sleepless in Seattle”. This particular project was meant as a contemporary looking building with plenty of entertainment space. As you can see in the pictures below, there are many decks and the large floor to ceiling windows allow great views of the city in every direction. Read more

MODERN TREEHOUSE

Designed by Rockefeller Partners, the project which was located in Nichols Canyon, Los Angeles, CA, USA, was called Banyan Treehouse. Perched atop steel pylons that abstractly emulate natural branches, the project is not literally a tree house (maybe it look like a tower house), but rather a modern interpretation of one. The design pays the ultimate respect to the pre-existing tree, literally shaping itself around the contours of the trunk. Inside, a single glass cut out in the floor reconnects the tree house inhabitant to the tree itself, a respectful and subtle nod to Mother Nature. Every surface of the tree house is appointed with wood, creating an unparalleled level of warmth. The exterior is clad with high-grade cedar while the underside of the eaves and the structure itself are clad with rich palope. Inside, the walnut floors are complemented by walnut paneled walls. Outside, a quick walk down the stairs leads to a protected and private outdoor shower. Read more
