Nora House : Cubism Concept for Minimalist Style

Designed by Tham & Videgård Hansson Arkitekter, A house organized as a spiraling sequence of four large rooms on four levels. These big spaces without a fixed hierarchy let this house invite the inhabitants to organize their lives following their own preferences. The architect which used cubism consept, could reach simple and minimalist style for their design. The wide window style that is used in this house make possible to get a sufficient light flows for each room inside the house. So, in the daylight, the interior don’t need artificial light anymore. Construction is in situ cast concrete. Facades are rendered in plaster colored dark greyish blue. Protruding window boxes made of oak add a 3-dimensional quality to the facade, thus enhancing the depth and massive character of the interior. All glass panes are fixed, with wooden side vents and doors.
