Fundamental Concept Of Tropical Architecture

What is Tropical Architecture? Before answering that question, you’d better already know the characteristic of tropical climate. They are high temperature, high humidity, bright sunlight and high fall of the rain. So that, you can create a home design which can reducing the impact of characteristics toward the people who live in.
- High Fall Of The Rain. Two seasons in Tropical Climate which is contrast each other are summer and rainy season. In rainy season, there are a lot of water volume of the rain which fall onto the roof. So that, the roof have to throw away the water as fast as they can. To handle the need, a Tropical House should be designed by using aslant roof type, atleast 30 degrees, as well as overhang roof type.
- High Temperature. A Tropical House should be given wide size of windows, wide size of doors, ventilation as well as high cailing. By using these elements, in summer season, The air can flow very well enter and exit the house, so you can redusing the temperature of the house. In multilevels building, we can use void as an alternative to make air circulation. At the larger space of home living, you can put a pool, fountain or even vegetation element to make surrounding temperature cooler.
- High Humidity. High humidity can cause a wood become moldy quickly and fungus appearing. That is a nightmare for your wood interior and furniture. But, don’t worry, high humidity could be redused by sunlight. So, try to bring sufficient sunlight into the house from some directions.
- Bright Sunlight. Sometimes, too much sunlight is not comfort for your indoor activity, especially its glare.You can use louver or vergola to reduse that effect in order to get comfortable area.
So, a Tropical Architecture is design which can match to the tropical environment as well as to people who live in.
