According to the Feng Shui Concept, there are some positions of staricase on the home lay out which is prohibited. There are:

• Staircase Next To The Door. In Fengshui concept, ladder-step is like a saw, so the position is prohibited because it can cut the luck-energy(Qi) which will enter the home or the luck-energy(Qi) won’t circulate in the house (disappear through the staircase). The solution for this problem are put permanent partition between door and staircase or move out one of the door and staircase from that position.

• Staircase In front of The Door. Staircase in front of the door is not good for your luck-energy (Qi), both across or lengthwise position. Staircase which is like saw in Feng Shui concept, will cut luck-energy(Qi) that is flowing to the up stair. So, that there will be unstable luck-energy (Qi) and many trouble toward the owner’s livelihood. Solution for this case is putting a permanent partition between staircase and the door or move out one of the door and staircase from that position.
• The Door Below The Staircase. The Door which is across below the staircase is not allowed in Feng Shui Concept because the ladder-step will cut the luck-energy which through out the door. In other case, the staircase will tread on the luck-energy(Qi) below. The best solution for this case is move the door from that position

• Staircase In The Living Room. The position was often used in hotel layout because it can reach luxurious impression of interior. But this kind of design will reach the optimum function if there is a large space between main entrance and staircase. If there is no space enough between door and staircase, the owner/user will get bed influence from this condition.
