Deconstruction Style : A Breakthrough Design
What exactly is it ? Actually, Deconstruction Architecture style is the expansion of Modern Architecture style. Its concept was announced at the first time at Academy Forum Discussion, Tate Gallery of London on April, 8, 1988, and then continued with exibition in Museum of Art, New York (theme : “Deconstructivist Architecture“) which is organized by Philip Johnson. The exhibition presented seven architects who performed their designs. They were Peter Eisenman, Bernard Tschumi, Daniel Libeskind, Frank Gehry, Zaha Hadid, Rem Koolhaas and Coop Himmelblau. This movement breaks all the classical rules of composition, the balance, hierarchy and rigid geometry. The spirit of this style are on its contradiction, decomposition, disjunction, discontinuity and deformation. Here are some Deconstruction style buildings :

Extension to the Denver Art Museum, Frederic C. Hamilton Building
Denver, Colorado
Extension to the Denver Art Museum, Frederic C. Hamilton Building, is an expansion and addition to the existing museum, designed by the Italian Architect Gio Ponti. Currently housing the Modern and Contemporary art collections, as well as the collection of Oceanic and African Art, the building was inspired by the vitality and growth of Denver. The extension, which opened in October 2006, was a joint venture with Davis Partnership Architects, the Architect of Record, working with M.A. Mortensen Co.

The Jewish Museum Berlin
Berlin, Germany
The Jewish Museum exhibits the social, political and cultural history of the Jews in Germany from the 4th century to the present. The design of the Museum engenders a fundamental rethinking of architecture in relation to its program. The new extension was completed in January 1999, 10% under budget, and opened fully installed to the public in September 2001. SDL worked with Lubic & Woehrlin Gmbh to complete this project. In five years, more than 4,000,000 people have visited the museum.

Orestad Downtown Master Plan
Copenhagen, Denmark
Ørestad is the largest and most ambitious urban development in the Copenhagen area. Located just South of the historic city centre, it consists of a 5 km long but narrow development zone bound by a 25 square kilometer nature reserve on the West and the elevated light-rail tracks. It was conceived as series of neighborhoods, located along the light-rail line like pearls on a string.

Editoriale Bresciana Tower
Brescia, Italy
The theme of the Editoriale Bresciana Tower is the reorganization of an important part of the city of Brescia, an area between the historical center and the new extension of the city towards the south.

Guggenheim Museum Bilbao
Bilbao, Spain
The Guggenheim Museum Bilbao is the result of a unique collaboration between the Basque Country Administration, which finances and owns the project, and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation, which will operate the Museum and provide the core art collection. The Museum represents the first step in the redevelopment of the former trade and warehouse district along the South bank of the Nirvana River. Directly accessible from the business and historic districts of the city, the Museum marks the center of a cultural triangle formed by the Muse de Bells Arts, the University, and the Old Town Hall. A public plaza located at the entrance of the Museum encourages pedestrian traffic between the Museum and the Muse de Bells Arts, and between the Old City and the River Front. The Punt de lo Salve Bridge, which connects the 19th-century city center with outlying areas, passes over the site at its Eastern edge, lending to the Museum the significance of being a gateway to the city.
Enterteinment Xenter Plaza (EX Plaza)
Jakarta, Indonesia
Entertainment Xenter Plaza (EX Plaza) was designed by the small team of Denton Corker Marshal (DCM), they were Budiman Hendropurnomo, Dicky Hendrasto and Sonny Sutanto. EX Plaza consists of 5 cubes which is arranged with different height and colour. So that, the building could be a vocal point among some International Style Buildings at the surrounding area by its combination of wild, explosive and as well as chaotic style. Inside this 4th levels building, there are mall, food court, retail, bowling center, celebrity fitness and café. As long as the other buildings around EX Plaza won’t change to become similar with EX Plaza Style, EX Plaza will still become a landmark of the site.
